What to buy, in order
Stocks for each of Lester's assassinations
Gains are what guides and players report at the peak, and the exact figure varies from run to run. The Bus assassination has no stock to buy before it, and the Construction assassination none after.
| Mission | Buy | Company | Ticker | Exchange | Typical gain (%) | Reported gains (%) | When to sell |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel | Before | Betta Pharmaceuticals | BET | BAWSAQ | 50 | 35–80 | Soon after the mission, when it stops rising (within about a day) |
| Hotel | After | Bilkinton Research | BIL | LCN | 80 | 50–100 | Buy after selling Betta; hold 2 to 3 in-game days |
| Multi Target | Before | Debonaire | DEB | LCN | 80 | 60–80 | After the mission, about a day later |
| Multi Target | After | Redwood Cigarettes | RWC | LCN | 300 | 300–320 | Hold 2 to 3 in-game days |
| Vice | Before | Fruit | FRT | BAWSAQ | 50 | 50 | A few in-game hours after the mission |
| Vice | After | Facade | FAC | BAWSAQ | 33 | 33–40 | Hold about 2 in-game days |
| Bus | After | Vapid | VAP | BAWSAQ | 100 | 100 | Buy right after the mission; hold about 2 in-game days |
| Construction | Before | GoldCoast | GCD | LCN | 80 | 75–90 | After the mission, within about a day |
How it works
The planner puts all of each character's cash into the stock for each step, in mission order, and multiplies it by the gain you pick: the low end, the typical figure or the high end of what guides and players report.
Example: with $10,000,000 on one character, starting at the Multi Target assassination with typical gains, the six steps multiply the cash by about 51.7, to roughly $517 million.
Before each mission
- Check the in-game day. The markets don't move at weekends, so start on a weekday.
- Switch to each character and put all their cash into the stock for that step.
- Save before you sell. Sleeping or saving moves time forward; sell when the price stops rising.
Questions
Should I do Lester's assassinations before or after the story?
Do the Hotel assassination when the story asks for it, because the story needs it. Leave the other four until after the final heist, when all three characters have far more cash to invest.
Why isn't my stock going up?
The in-game markets don't move on weekends, so start an assassination on a weekday. Sleeping or saving moves time forward. Sell when the price stops rising, because it can drop sharply after its peak.
Should all three characters invest?
Yes. Switch to Michael, Franklin and Trevor in turn and put each one's cash into the stock before the mission. The planner adds all three together.
Is there a limit to how much money a character can have?
Yes, $2,147,483,647. The planner stops each character's balance there.
